Multiple Junior World Champion in road, track and cyclocross

National Junior Time Trial and Road Race Champion

Zoe Backstedt is a road and cyclocross cyclist for Women’s World Tour team Canyon SRAM Zondacrypto. Zoe won multiple Junior World Champion titles across three disciplines and since stepping up to the elite ranks in 2023 has continued her success.

 

In 2021 Zoe won the coveted rainbow bands at the Junior UCI World Championships Road Race and silver in the ITT. In 2022, Zoe went one better and dominated the junior category winning both the Road Race and ITT. In cyclocross, with multiple Junior World Cup victories in the bag, Zoe was the firm favourite on the start line at the World Championships in Fayetteville in January 2022, and rose to the occasion with a dominant victory claiming another Junior World title.

 

January 2023 saw Zoe win her first Elite title at the British National Cyclocross Championships and a few weeks later, Zoe won silver at the World Cyclocross Championships in the U23 category. Zoe rose to the top step in 2024, winning the U23 category alongside multiple elite World Cup podiums through the season. In 2025 Zoe won both the U23 title at the World Championships and the overall U23 World Cup victory.

 

Born into a family with cycling pedigree, her father, Magnus, won the Paris-Roubaix classic in 2004, in addition to stage wins in both the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia, whilst her mum, Megan, competed for Wales at the Commonwealth Games. Zoe’s sister, Elynor, rides in the Women’s WorldTour as well – so it’s no surprise she has taken to the pedals and will continue to take the family’s success to the next level.
